Dental Autoclave Water Pump

ULKA EP5 is an electromagnetic solenoid pump in the CEME E5 series that delivers water through a pressurized hydraulic circuit. It may be evaluated for compatible dental autoclave water-feed systems and other steam-generating equipment when the electrical, hydraulic, temperature and installation requirements match. For the specified 230 V AC, 50 Hz version, the supplied technical specification lists 48 W rated power, Class F insulation, a Ø7.2 mm barbed inlet and a G 1/8 female-thread outlet.
The supplied specification provides pressure-dependent flow data, including average flow rates of 650 cc/min at 0 bar, 520 cc/min at 2 bar and 210 cc/min at 10 bar. It also records a self-priming test in which the pump draws water from a tank positioned 50 cm below within 8 seconds. The listed maximum fluid temperature is 35°C and maximum ambient temperature is 25°C. Confirm the exact EP5 part number and voltage before ordering because E5-series variants have different electrical configurations and approvals.

The ULKA EP5 solenoid pump is an electrically operated pump intended to deliver water through a pressurized hydraulic circuit. For dental autoclaves, it may be considered as a water-feed component for the steam-generation system only when the pump’s pressure-flow curve, electrical rating, connectors, operating temperature and installation dimensions are compatible with the equipment design. The supplied technical sheet describes the CEME E5 series; it does not certify the EP5 as a universal replacement for all dental autoclaves or confirm suitability for a specific sterilizer model.

The technical specification lists production checks including a dielectric test at 2500 V for 1 second at 5 mA, diode check where applicable, self-priming, power absorption, flow rate at 0 bar and maximum pressure. The self-priming test draws water from a tank positioned 50 cm below the pump within 8 seconds. Hydraulic performance may vary with the actual circuit.

Specification note: The supplied E5 technical sheet does not clearly support a universal 15 bar maximum working pressure, all-voltage availability for every EP5 model, exact pump dimensions, housing/seal/internal material composition, a 250-hour total ON-time life test, or UL approval for every EP5 configuration. These claims have not been presented as verified facts.

Application Areas

(1) Dental Autoclave Equipment

The EP5 may be evaluated as a water-feed pump for compatible Class B or Class N dental autoclaves. Before use in a sterilizer, confirm required pressure and flow, duty cycle, inlet-water conditions, electrical rating, mounting space, fittings and sealing method. A specific autoclave project reference should only be added when the actual pump installation has been verified.

(2) Small Steam-Generating Appliances

The E5-series pump may be considered for compatible steam-generating or water-delivery equipment where the pressure-flow curve and temperature limits meet the system requirements. The intended application must be checked for each device.

(3) Maintenance and Replacement

For replacement orders, compare the original pump model and part number, voltage/frequency, electrical terminals, inlet and outlet connections, mounting dimensions and operating pressure. Do not assume the EP5 is a direct replacement based on appearance alone.

Reasons for Choosing ULKA EP5

· Documented performance data: The supplied specification provides flow-rate values at multiple pressure points.

· Standardized connections: The listed Ø7.2 mm inlet, G 1/8 female outlet and 6.3 × 0.8 mm fast-on terminals support compatibility checks.

· Self-priming test information: The technical sheet records a test drawing water from a tank 50 cm below within 8 seconds.

· Production inspection: The specification lists 100% production checks, including dielectric test, self-priming, power absorption, flow at 0 bar and maximum pressure.

· Variant-specific approvals: IMQ and VDE approvals are listed for certain configurations; certificate scope should be checked against the exact model.

Supply and Technical Support
